FHU Student Veteran's Professional Development Club

Diligently Pursuing the Mission

January 31, 2018

Even though the Veterans' Professional Development Club has not reached it goal for funds to help with initial start-up cost its members have not used that for an excuse to not start executing its mission. The club President and VP are setting members on Freed-Hardeman University's Veteran Success Committee providing valuable insight and feedback from the Student Veteran's prospective to aid the committee in its mission to shape a better educational experience for Veterans and their families attending Freed-Hardeman. Additionally, they have instituted a brown bag lunch meeting on the 3rd Monday of every month during the academic year with various experts attending to share information vital to the Veteran community. Another ongoing effort conducted by the club is a weekly lunch meeting on Wednesdays with the primary purpose of building the network of support and camaraderie among the Veterans attending Freed-Hardeman. This is but a small start to all that this group hopes to accomplish in aiding to propel Freed-Hardeman towards being one of the greatest institutes for Veterans and their families to achieve their educational and life goals.
