First Scholarship Awarded!

October 02, 2017

September 27, 2017. What a surprise today, on the 12th anniversary of Ronnie's passing! We just found out that a scholarship has been awarded to a Freed-Hardeman student. We have happy tears today, finding out that Sarah Sadler is receiving Ronnie's Scholarship.Thank you to everyone who donated last year in order to make this scholarship possible.

As we remember the life Ronnie lived and the impact he made, we have a goal to continue increasing his scholarship so more students can be helped in the future. This is a perpetual scholarship, and awards are given from interest gained. Join me in congratulating Sarah for being the first recipient of the Ronnie Sain Memorial Scholarship! To God be the glory!

THANKFUL and AMAZED!!!

January 24, 2017

THANKFUL and AMAZED!!! We have some wonderfully exciting news! The Ronnie Sain Memorial Scholarship is now fully funded! It took less than 4 months to reach and exceed the final goal of $30,000! Even after the initial project timeline was closed, donations continued!  Ronnie loved and was loved by his family and friends! He had many friends we've never met. His legacy will live on through FHU students!

The first scholarship in his memory will be awarded this coming fall of 2017. Thank you to all who made this possible!

Grateful!

From Ronnie's family:

With grateful hearts, we say "thank you" to the donors who generously gave to this project!  We are thankful for open minds and loving hearts toward Ronnie. Another online opportunity for giving will be presented at some time next year as we grow the scholarship toward making it fully funded.

WHAT WE KNOW...Students will be blessed at sometime in the future from your gifts!

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW...the full extent to which those students will be blessed and in turn bless others!

Thank you for the love you showed Ronnie during his life and for continuing to love his memory.  Thank you for praying for this effort.  Thank you for supporting Christian education!

Donations can currently be sent to FHU with a designation for the "Ronnie Sain Memorial Scholarship".

May God continue to bless you!

Thank You - Increasing the Goal!

September 27, 2016

I am truly overcome by the generosity that you have shown to our family. This scholarship has been something I've wanted to start for a long time. When I was setting up this project, I had no idea what the "right amount" was to set as the goal. I thought $5,000 would be a stretch because it is a lot of money.

Because of such incredible generosity, you have enabled us to achieve the $5,000 goal we set, only two days after the project was started! Thank you so very much!

Several people have asked if they can still support this scholarship, even though we reached the $5,000 goal. The answer is yes.  In order to continue building Ronnie's scholarship, we are going to increase the goal by $2,000.

Thank you. You will never know how much you kind actions mean to me and our family.

Thank You!

September 24, 2016

Thank you to everyone who donated to Ronnie's Scholarship. We had no idea what was realistic when we set this $5,000 goal, and you have helped make that possible in two short days!

I am very much looking forward to the day when Ronnie's scholarship is fully funded at $30,000. Then at FHU's scholarship lunch, we will be able to meet the students who are receiving his scholarship and share with them who Ronnie was and the impact he has made on us all.

Thank you for choosing to honor his memory in this way. It is very meaningful to our family, and it would have been meaningful to Ronnie.  Every gift, no matter the amount, means so much to our family. Words will not be able to express enough how thankful we are for every gift, every share, and every memory that you have given to us. To God be the glory!

Establishing this scholarship has been a dream of my parents since Ronnie's passing. This scholarship not only honors his memory, it also honors my parents. Thank you for helping to make their dream a reality.
